With Garmin’s radar technology, it’s easy to track clubhead and ball speed, smash factor, swing tempo and estimated distance from 30 yards and up. All of which are important parameters that help you play smoother and improve your strategy. The Garmin G80 Approach features a 3.5-inch sunlight-readable color touchscreen and a battery that lasts up to 15 hours in GPS mode. The built-in meter reads your stroke length while playing on one of the many preloaded golf courses from around the world. Four practice and game modes are available, designed to be game-enhancing and rewarding to use.

Use the device on the range, use the warm-up mode to analyze swing data, the tempo mode to optimize swing timing, and the target practice to become more consistent and accurate. You can also play virtual rounds on one of the preloaded courses with full-color CourseView maps. Compete against a friend, participate in a tournament against other users around the world, or try to beat your personal best.

Use it during your rounds, on the course the radar technology is easily activated with a push of a button. Distances to the fairway, obstacles, landing areas or the front, middle or back of the green are obtained through the touch function. Just point at any point that can be read in sunlight to get the distance to that particular location. Other features include a digital scorecard, PlaysLike distances that show distances to the target, adjusted for uphill or downhill shots, PinPointer that shows the location of the green on blind shots and Greenvy that provides more accurate distances to the flag by zooming.
